Note: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious
issue might occur if you revise registry.
Method 1: Insert your document into
another file
The recent passage mark in a word document consists of
information about the document. If the document is corrupted, you may be able
to recover the text of the document if you erased this recent paragraph mark.
Method 2: Start word by using the /a
switch
The /a switch is a troubleshooting tool that can be
easily used to find where a problem may exist in a Word.
Method 3: Delete the Word Data
registry subkey
Most of the usually used choices in Word are stored in
the Word Data registry subkey.
A common troubleshooting step is to erase the Word Data
registry subkey. When you restart Word, the program rebuilds the Word Data
registry key by using the default setting.
Method 4: Delete the Word Option
registry key
The Word Options registry key stores options you can set
up in Word. These settings are segmented into default and optional group.
Method 5: Replace the Normal.dot or
Normal.dotm global template file
You can avoid pattern, Text and large text that are
stored in the global template file from affecting behavior of Word and any
other document that is opened.
Method 6: Disable the Startup folder
add-ins
When you start Word, Word again and again amount templates
and add-ins that are placed in the startup folders. Collision or problems that
affect an add-in matter problems in
Word. To determine whether an item in a startup folder is causing the
issues temporarily disable the registry settings that points to these add-in.
Method 7: Delete the COM add-ins registry keys
You can install COM add-ins in any location. Temporarily
disable the COM add-ins by deleting the registry for COM add-ins
